Responsibilities:
You will be an instrumental team member in the global team to define, implement, automate, and maintain the configuration management for ServiceNow’s servers in our private as well as public cloud.
You will be responsible for the scalability, reliability, and security of the configuration management infrastructure and responding to stakeholder questions on the system.
You will manage code reviews from other stakeholders for configuration management code.
You will be responsible for planning and executing upgrades on both system and application levels for the environments.
You will be part of the team to move the code base to a newer technology using Red Hat tooling.
Requirements & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant experience.
4+ years’ experience in system admin on Linux servers (Red Hat preferred)
2+ years’ experience in configuration management tools like Puppet (preferred) or Salt.
2+ years’ experience developing in Python.
2+ years’ experience in automation frameworks (bash, ansible)
2+ years’ experience in monitoring tools like Prometheus and log aggregation tools like Splunk.
Ability to solve problems at scale. All our servers use the configuration settings that this team develops and serve all our customers.
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Application Software development experience with Git is a plus.
