Data Analyst, Metcash

Responsibilities:

• Work with key stakeholders to identify business issues and opportunities for optimisation
• Analyse customer behaviour and preferences to identify opportunities for targeted marketing and sales strategies.
• Monitor market trends and competitor performance to support strategic planning and positioning
• Work with the Business Data and Insights Manager to develop the strategy for the team
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, define reporting requirements, and ensure BI solutions meet organizational objectives.
• Translate business questions into technical specifications for BI solutions.
• Reporting: scope, design, build, and maintain BI solutions that advise and influence business decisions
• Collaborate with IT Mdata teams to guide the design of data models and construct DAX calculations.

Requirements & Skills:

• 5+ years of experience applying advanced analytics, database development, and data visualization to complex issues
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Must-have: Advanced Power BI Premium, Advanced ‘Modern’ Excel, Intermediate SQL
• Understanding of data visualization principles and techniques
• Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and database management.
• Understanding the FMCG/CPG industry, Liquor, and/or independent retailer landscape is a bonus
• Experience working with BIG data from disparate sources with various shortcomings – nothing’s perfect!
• Strong ability to interpret data and communicate results in a structured and compelling manner to less technical audiences
