Propose, contribute to, and lead research projects related to creating, deploying, and assessing new software development methodologies, processes, and tools to increase SW development productivity.
Through software engineering research, improve software development practices in both product development and research tool development, including the development of AI/ML solutions.
Select and assess commercial tools or develop custom SW engineering tooling specific to Hitachi Energy’s needs.
Collaborate with a global team of researchers and engineers in Hitachi Energy Research and Hitachi Energy business units to identify and solve real-world challenges
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of state-of-the-art software development methods and tools.
Network in the company and actively distribute your knowledge and expertise
Collaborate with local and global external partners including universities, startups, and vendors
Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
Requirements & Skills:
PhD degree in software engineering or related field.
Deep familiarity with modern SW development methodologies.
Deep familiarity with several programming languages and paradigms.
Experience with different variants of modern SW development lifecycle tooling.
SW engineering research and publication track record and experience with the design of experiments and their statistical analysis
Some SW development experience, ideally in a product development environment.
Experience with formal methods and other advanced SW development practices is beneficial.
Experience with AI and generative AI for SW engineering is beneficial.
