Responsibilities:

Data Architecture & Design

  • Design, develop, and maintain a scalable data lakehouse from data ingestion all the way to the consumption of data products.
  • Partner with product managers, engineers, and analysts to identify data challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Lead data stewardship initiatives to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability across our organization.

Collaboration & Best Practices

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align on data mandates, solutions, and results.

Optimization & Monitoring

  • Optimize Lakehouse performance and costs while maintaining efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain automated data quality monitoring systems.
  • Focus on optimizing the performance of data systems while minimizing operational costs.

Security & Compliance

  • Contribute to data security and compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability across the organization.

Reporting & Insights

  • Collaborate with teams to support and deliver data insights that influence key business decisions.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • ETL development experience on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks).
  • Advanced SQL knowledge with experience in performance optimization.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for batch/real-time data processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Fluent in both French and English to communicate effectively across diverse teams and vendors.

Additional Traits:

  • Experience implementing and operating Lakehouse architectures.
  • DBT development and orchestration experience.
  • Knowledge of major BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Experience with real-time data processing.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
  • DevOps/DataOps experience.
  • Data quality tool experience.
