Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to DARPA program managers in the areas of AI/ML, computer vision, autonomous systems, and related fields.
Conduct independent technical assessments and feasibility analyses of cutting-edge technologies and proposed research directions.
Contribute to the development of program plans, funding proposals, and technical reports.
Lead and participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and program status briefings.
Mentor and guide junior researchers and engineers.
Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Requirements & Skills:
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 10+ years of experience in AI/ML research and development, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering innovative solutions.
Must have an Active US Government Secret Clearance. Please note US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Technical mastery: Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms, computer vision, signal processing, and autonomous systems concepts.
Strong communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Specific AI/ML experience: Experience with big-data analytics and applying machine learning to problems such as vulnerability detection, code snippet detection, and signature identification.
Software development and architecture: Proficiency in software toolchain development, software evaluation, and familiarity with computer architecture concepts.
Expertise in Python and C++ software architecture testing and deployment.
Signal processing expertise: Deep understanding of signal processing techniques with experience in areas such as GPS receiver robustness, medical device signal processing, and classified signals processing.
Computer vision applications: Experience applying computer vision to tasks such as facial recognition and query-expanded computer vision.
Experience with sensor technologies, including signal processing and machine learning algorithms for sensor fusion.
MS or PhD
Prior experience working with DARPA or other defense-related research agencies.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex research programs, managing budgets, and overseeing project execution.
Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
Knowledge of software correctness and vulnerability discovery and repair techniques.
Experience in implementing large-scale graph data structures and subgraph matching algorithms.
Familiarity with software systems engineering principles.
