Responsibilities:
Data Architecture & Design
- Design, develop, and maintain a scalable data lakehouse from data ingestion all the way to the consumption of data products.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and analysts to identify data challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Lead data stewardship initiatives to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability across our organization.
Collaboration & Best Practices
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align on data mandates, solutions, and results.
Optimization & Monitoring
- Optimize Lakehouse performance and costs while maintaining efficiency.
- Implement and maintain automated data quality monitoring systems.
- Focus on optimizing the performance of data systems while minimizing operational costs.
Security & Compliance
- Contribute to data security and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and availability across the organization.
Reporting & Insights
- Collaborate with teams to support and deliver data insights that influence key business decisions.
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- ETL development experience on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks).
- Advanced SQL knowledge with experience in performance optimization.
- Strong proficiency in Python for batch/real-time data processing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Fluent in both French and English to communicate effectively across diverse teams and vendors.
Additional Traits:
- Experience implementing and operating Lakehouse architectures.
- DBT development and orchestration experience.
- Knowledge of major BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Experience with real-time data processing.
- Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
- DevOps/DataOps experience.
- Data quality tool experience.
