Be a technical leader for pipeline and/or pressure vessels and piping design and integrity assessment considering pressure, geotechnical, and thermal loading
Have experience and familiarity with relevant Canadian and US pipeline and energy sector standards and codes of practice to lead project teams in code compliance review and assessments.
Support project and business management
Identify opportunities for technology and staff improvement
Support recruitment of additional staff
Review, discuss, and refer business opportunities to appropriate business units within Infrastructure (i.e. Structural Integrity, Welding, Materials, Software & Instrumentation, Design & Construction)
Requirements & Skills:
Experience within the North American Energy Pipeline and/or Industrial Plant Service sector
Over 15 years of related engineering experience
Proven engineering skills and a valid Professional Engineering license
Post-Graduate degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Civil Engineering is preferred
In-depth knowledge of engineering applied to the energy sector
Leadership and management experience
Experience working in a consulting environment
Proven track record leading client relationships and business promotion/sales
A track record for the solution of energy sector (pipe and/or plant) engineering design and/or assessment tasks
In-depth subject matter expertise related to several designs, fitness for service assessment (i.e. cracking, corrosion, weld fault, geohazard, hydro-technical hazard assessment), materials, welding, forensic investigation
Industry recognition as a subject matter expert in the energy sector
Expertise and industrial track record related to numerical modelling (e.g. finite element modelling, computational fluid dynamics)
Experience working with industry standards CSA Z662, API 579, API 1104, BS 7910, ASME BPVC, ASME B31 series
Client-facing experience and excellent presentation skills
Proven ability working in a small fast-paced team environment
Strong technical report and proposal writing track record
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Current capabilities working with numerical simulation (e.g., finite element modelling, computational fluid dynamics)
Knowledge and experience in developing integrity management plans (IMP)
Knowledge of in-line inspection tools, reporting, and program development
Knowledge related to reliability and risk assessment
