Managing and mentoring a small team of early careers engineers to ensure they have the skills and support required to deliver our projects successfully
Evaluating and assessing new technologies, both through literature review and practical experimentation and demonstration
Designing and prototyping future combat system applications and supporting environments including state-of-the-art software architectures, semantic information modelling, and artificial intelligence/machine learning
Designing and implementing trials of future technologies alongside existing combat systems
Working with other engineering specialists to understand the impacts of security and safety controls on the combat system design, architecture, components, interfaces, and data
Simulation and analysis of real-world battlespace environments
Requirements & Skills:
Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in relevant IT or STEM subject (Science / Technology / Engineering / Maths)
Working knowledge of software engineering practices in the design and development of software applications or integrated systems
Experience in software development in one or more languages
Experience in managing small engineering teams or projects
Experience in IP network design and configuration
Experience with agile development processes and toolsets
