Work on in-house early development of novel means of manufacturing augmented reality waveguides
Make important contributions to new and existing automation and measurement processes
Collaborate with internal and external teams across a variety of disciplines and global locations. This will involve occasional travel within the UK and abroad.
Collaborate with equipment vendors and suppliers to identify and source new components and systems
Assist in transfer and dissemination of process knowledge within the company
Requirements & Skills:
Demonstrable record of hands-on technical development with good attention to detail and a can-do attitude
Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and team structures
Ability to work independently or closely with colleagues as required
Demonstrable programming skills (Python or MATLAB an advantage), especially for system integration
Experience of CAD (SolidWorks, NX)
Shows curiosity and a strong problem-solving ability
Demonstrable practical experience in building and validating new proof-of-concept processes
Knowledge of optics and practical experience in applied optics
Experience in industrial or machine vision system design and development
Experience in mechanical design, optical design, robotics, process automation
Experience in a variety of industrial processes including adhesive dispensing and surface treatment
Knowledge of inspection and metrology to GD&T and quality management systems
Cleanroom experience
Masters (MEng, MSc, or equivalent) in an engineering discipline or related field; equivalent experience will also be considered
Minimum of two years in an industrial research and development environment
