Responsibilities:

  • Lead with Impact: Oversee the day-to-day operations of your team, cultivating a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and high performance delivery.
  • Shape the Future: Define and own a roadmap aligned with our business OKRs, collaborating closely with other functions to prioritize high-impact work.
  • Proactive GRC: Ensure your products meet risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements, staying ahead of potential challenges.
  • Be a Trusted Voice: Partner closely with your non-technical peers to drive cross-functional success, bringing an engineering lens to problems.
  • Own Your Product: Stay on top of the performance of your products, from monitoring and SLAs to incident response and bug fixes, continuously improving processes to mitigate risks.
  • Set the Standard: Collaborate with other Engineering leaders to improve Wagestream engineering across people, processes, and technology dimensions.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and industry best practices, and assess their potential to enhance your products

Requirements & Skills:

  • Strong Stakeholder Management: Enjoy managing multiple stakeholders effectively – this team uniquely has more stakeholders than engineers!
  • Regulated or Consumer Credit Expertise: Solid background in working within consumer credit, financial, or regulated environments
  • Proven Leadership: Prior experience in leading teams of leaders and/or senior ICs
  • Hands-On Approach: A willingness to get involved in the details and drive results, rather than waiting for others.
  • Scalability Experience: Demonstrable success in building and scaling platforms and products in a high-growth environment.
  • Fast-Paced Decision-Making: Experience making rapid trade-offs between governance, risk, compliance, operations, product, and technology priorities
  • Passion for Social Impact: A commitment to leveraging technology for positive change, aligning with our mission-driven focus.
  • Technical Expertise: Up-to-date and evolving knowledge in software development, architecture, and modern technologies.
