Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support database applications for our data systems
- Design solutions using Oracle and PL/SQL technologies
- Conduct performance tuning, schema changes, and database releases
- Write scripts using Unix shell script and/or Python
- Provide production support off hours/weekends, when needed
Requirements & Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with database development and Oracle database administration
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline or its foreign equivalent
- Hands-on experience building solutions in relational databases in Oracle
- Experience working with large data sets (terabytes)
- Shell or Python scripting and programming skills
- ETL, SQL, PL/SQL database tuning, and partitioning experience
- Strong communication skills and experience working directly with end users
- Hadoop or Big Data technologies experience (preferred)
- Ability and flexibility to provide occasional off-hour/weekend support
