Responsibilities:
The primary focus of this post is to develop AI and machine learning to support and encourage financial stability from the level of individual traders to national and transnational markets.
The research will leverage a combination of non-traditional sources of data (e.g., social media, news media) and traditional data from financial markets (prices, volumes, etc.) to provide regulators with early warning signals of bubbles/crashes and to protect investors from pathological investment behavior.
The project will involve collaborating with a range of FinTech stakeholders including providers of MiFID reporting data, retail investment data, and access to synthetic datasets used by the FCA to stress test investment strategies.
Requirements & Skills:
You are interested in finance and financial systems.
You have expertise in AI/machine learning theory and applications, ideally related to finance.
You are fluent in relevant models, techniques, and methods.
You can demonstrate a high level of analytical capability.
You have the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary research settings.
You are able to collaborate effectively with non-academic stakeholder partners.
