Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on a variety of projects with a diverse set of cross-functional partners, become a trusted strategic partner, and build credibility through the structure & clarity of your work.
  • Apply technical expertise with statistical analysis, experimentation, and the presentation of data to deliver strategic insight for the wholesale segment.
  • Develop hypotheses through analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.
  • Work across domains (claims, underwriting, operations, actuarial, etc.) to define, understand, and test opportunities to drive meaningful improvements in these areas.
  • You will use data to inform business strategies, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and ensure the products we build bring value to the organization.
  • Use storytelling techniques to communicate insights broadly, including to segment leadership teams.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Collaboration – functions well as part of a team, a history of effective relationships across organizational boundaries
  • Curiosity – possesses a discovery mindset and has a passion for exploring/researching
  • Tenacity – the ability to stick with a problem and persist with data-wrangling to achieve project goals
  • Comfortable with ambiguity on projects – can navigate unknowns and operate in white space; works backward from the business goal to develop an action plan
  • Strong background in statistics and approaching problems quantitatively
  • A proven track record for crafting analysis into well-written and persuasive content
  • Experience serving as a thought partner to executives
  • Translate analysis findings and technical topics, visualize data to explain results to a non-technical business audience and senior management
  • Desired skills: SQL queries, Python data science libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.). Experience with Databricks a plus.
  • Education: bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (economics, engineering, computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, physics, etc.)
